In this talk, Peter will describe his opinions and approaches to nonfiction narrative, not-too-serious games, and pensive play. In particular he will trace how and why he drew influences to make a documentary game about the CIA and Iran, and while doing so, consider a handful of directions for cinema and videogames. The Cat and the Coup is a videogame about the first democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran who was overthrown by a CIA-sponsored coup d'etat.
